Atheists, like religious zealots, invariably think God is an object (an imaginary one) and, of course, such a One does not exist, neither the supposed Real One of zealots nor the rejected imaginary One of atheists. The distinction to be made here is both simple and subtle. Even typing the word 'God' produces an objectification that misleads. God, like Consciousness, is not an object. The mind (mine included, of course) immediately presumes to know what the preceding sentence means, without having the least clue as to what object-free , aware presence IS.
