To conceive... it has two well known meanings... to receive impregnation in order to give birth and to give birth to an idea or notion. In the former case, the result is the duality of self and other. In the latter case, we have the duality of this thought as opposed to all which is not this thought. In both cases, the result is what Vedanta calls Maya, the world of "as if." ... the only one we take to be real... thereby constituting the very possibility of unreality.
